I am a licensed Tool and Die Maker and a Georgian College alumnus, graduating in 2004 and 2005. My career began on manual machines in various job shop and production environments. After completing my apprenticeship in 2008, I transitioned to programming and operating CNC machines, including multi-spindle lathes and 5-axis mills.
In 2017, I became a part-time instructor at Georgian College, teaching CNC programming, cutting tool theory, and machine shop applications. I also volunteered with Skills Canada as a trainer and coach for CNC Mill and Turn competitions.
In 2019, I shifted from the shop floor to management roles at a local Tier 1 automotive mold and production shop, focusing on people and policy management. In 2020, I founded "Millar Mechanical," a successful machine shop. I transitioned to full-time teaching in 2023 and became one of three partners in the modern machine shop, Coldwater Precision Components,
